Jogging strollers have a rap of being too large, or too bulky. This makes them cumbersome to use, store or lift. That’s why a recent trend nowadays with regards to jogging strollers is creating the “mini” version. As the name implies, the mini version is a more compact style as compared to those of the full sized, or regular strollers.

One of those mini styled strollers is the Baby Jogger City Mini Single Stroller. This jogging stroller weighs only 16.8 pounds but still maintains a 50lb weight capacity.

Other features of the Baby Jogger City Mini Single Stroller are:

  • Patented Quick-Fold Technology - Simple lift & fold
  • 3-Panel bubble canopy with clear view windows
  • 8" wheels with steel ball bearings and front suspension
  • Front Swivel wheel system
  • Universal City Series Accessory Mounting Bracket
  • Ventilated reclining seat
  • Weather cover
  • Adjustable 5 point safety harness

With all of these features, you can see that the Baby Jogger City Mini Single Stroller was made to be one of the more lightweight and compact strollers that are available in the market.

What I like about the product:

  • Compact Size

The compact size of the Baby Jogger City Mini Single Stroller is very important for me. This is because it makes it easier to store and use especially in small spaces like our house. I like the fact that I would not have to tilt or remove my baby just to be able to fit inside standard sized doors.

Sometimes the larger jogging strollers can take up so much space, while some can’t even fit into some of the rooms in the house. The Baby Jogger City Mini Single Stroller compacts size makes sure that there would be no problems like this.

  • Front Swivel Wheel system

I like the Front swivel wheel that the Baby Jogger City Mini Single Stroller uses. I think that it contributes a lot to the very easy handling that it has.

I was easily able to pass through even pavements and was able to maneuver or turn even in tight or compact spaces!

  • Quick Fold technology

Some jogging strollers are a chore to be able to pack and fold. However, the quick fold technology employed by the Baby Jogger City Mini Single Stroller makes it easy for me to just pack up and go.

This feature, combined with the very lightweight construction of the Baby Jogger City Mini Single Stroller makes it one of the more portable strollers in the market.

What the stroller can improve on:

  • Toughness

The Baby Jogger City Mini Single Stroller is not as tough as the other strollers in the market. I think that this is the tradeoff that one has to make when purchasing a mini stroller at this price.

Some parts seem to be made of light plastic and they do not give off confidence that they would be able to withstand lots of hard uses. I am scared that they might give way if ever I would pass through uneven roads or other kinds of rough terrain.

Bottom Line:

I would recommend the Baby Jogger City Mini Single Stroller to city folks who are living in relatively small or tight homes. The compact size and lightweight of this stroller makes it easy for going around town or city streets that have paved roads.

With that said, people may want to look for other options if they are planning on using the stroller for more heavy duty use.

The City Mini is NOT a jogging stroller. Baby Jogger just happens to be the name of the company. This is a great mall type stroller, but if you want a jogging stroller look at their older models.
