Should I buy a cheap jogging stroller?

One of the things that hinder people from purchasing a jogging stroller for their children is the price.  Usually, purchasing a good jogging stroller would come at a high cost. That’s why many people are thinking about either not purchasing one at all or just simply purchasing an inexpensive one.

However, many are afraid of purchasing inexpensive jogging strollers. They are asking if it would be right to simply purchase a cheap one, and spend the money that they would save from it elsewhere. Well, to be able to answer the question of “Should I just buy a cheap jogging stroller?”, it would be important to know why strollers are priced the way they are.

Here are some of the factors that can drive up the price of a jogging stroller:

Safety Features:

One of the reasons for the expensive costs of a jogging stroller would be the inclusion of various safety features. Good safety harnesses that would snuggly fit your children and have enough padding to be tight but comfortable would come at a premium price.

Another safety feature that drives up the cost of jogging strollers would be well designed brakes. The brakes from expensive strollers are made so that they would not abruptly stop the stroller while in motion but gradually slow it down.

As such, a cheap jogging stroller purchased from the neighborhood store may not have these advanced safety features. Yes, it would have its own safety belt and brakes, but they may not be as good as those that you would have to really pay for.

Brand:

Admittedly, a factor for the rising prices of jogging strollers is the brand or the stroller’s manufacturer. If a stroller is made by a famous brand such as a Bugaboo, BOB, or even JEEP, then you can expect that the stroller would have a high price point. On the other hand, a jogging stroller from a relatively unknown brand may be significantly cheaper.

That is why it may be good to consider if you are brand conscious before purchasing one. Some people would not want to entrust their children to an “unbranded” jogging stroller for various reasons. Just remember that a brand is not necessarily a guarantee that the stroller would be perfect.

Aesthetics:

Another factor that can raise the price of a jogging stroller would be aesthetics. Some jogging strollers that have pretty or sleek designs can become much more expensive than their plainer counterparts.

As you can see, it would be better to consider the various factors and find out if it would be worth to purchase a cheap jogging stroller. If the strollers are cheap simply because they do not have the brand, but are actually quite capable, then by all means purchase it!

In the same way, do not simply purchase an expensive stroller because it is branded or because it is aesthetically pleasing, you may be better off with cheap ones if it has more features even if the manufacturers are not as well known.
