BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie

When you hear the term “Ironman”, the idea that ideally comes to mind is toughness or durability. This connotation spans multiple disciplines, from watches, athletes, or any kind of difficult events. Now, BOB wants to bring that idea of sturdiness into strollers with the BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie.

The BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie is marketed as a very durable stroller that can withstand the rigors of jogging through rough environments. Of course, simply being tough would not bode well for a stroller, other features include:

  • Fixed front wheel for superior on-road running performance
  • Fast, two step folding for compact storage and easy travel
  • Suspension system, capable of 3" of travel, provides for an exceptionally smooth ride
  • Stiffer suspension maximizes maneuverability and response when running
  • Independent canopies & padded, independently reclining seats
  • Rear wheel foot-activated parking brake is easy to operate and locks out both rear wheels
  • Hand-activated front wheel brake acts as a slowing mechanism
  • Narrow width fits through standard 32" doors
  • Lightest, least rolling resistance
  • 16" aluminum rims and hubs with stainless steel spokes

What I like about the Product:

  • Great for Jogging

The BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie utilizes a fixed front wheel instead of the swivel front wheel that other strollers use. This means that straight-aways were very easy to go through with the stroller.

With the BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie, I did not have to worry about swerving or losing control of the carriage. This made it easier for me to push the pace of my jogging.

  • Toughness

The BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie can really live up to the ironman moniker, as it is really one of the tougher strollers in the market.

The BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie seems to have a very sturdy construction. It doesn’t give off the feel of cheap plastic which makes it seem more safe and trustworthy.

  • Great Suspension system

One of the reasons that people are wary of pushing the pace is that they would want to avoid the startling bumps that they might encounter in rough patches of the road.

The good thing with the BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie is that its suspension system is able to avoid such shocks, and gives your baby a smooth ride.

What it could improve on:

  • Aligning the front wheel

Sometimes you would have an issue with a misaligned front wheel on the BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie. This would mean that your stroller would not be able to go straight forward.

Adjusting it can be difficult and would take some time.

  • Difficult to turn

Turning can be difficult with the BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie. As with the first issue, this is another problem with fixed wheels.

Compared to their swivel wheel counterparts, you would really have to make an effort to do some cornering on fixed wheel strollers such as this BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie.

Unfortunately, this is the trade off that you would have to make, if you want to push the pace with a jogging stroller.

Bottom Line:

The BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie caters to a specific market; those that are looking for tough strollers that can withstand an increase in jogging pace. Those who want to really focus on their exercise would be served well by this stroller.

However, those who are just in it for a leisurely stroll in the park, or want to go to malls and stores and be able to turn in tight corners, may not appreciate the features of the BOB Ironman Sport Utility Stroller Duallie.
